Selected for Phase 3 of the Leaders in Industry-university Cooperation Project (LINC 3.0)

Daegu University was selected on June 28, 2022 for Phase 3 of the Leaders in Industry-university Cooperation Project (LINC 3.0) by the Ministry of Education.
The LINC 3.0 project, administered by the Ministry of Education and the National Research Foundation of Korea, targets 4-year comprehensive universities nationwide. Daegu University was selected for the ‘demand-tailored growth type’ and will receive approximately KRW 24 billion of federal funds over the next six years.
The LINC 3.0 project is a representative financial support project that supports universities’ industry-academic-research cooperation activities. It follows on Phase 2 of the social-customized industry-academic cooperation leading university development project (2017-2021, LINC+) and Phase 1 of the industry-academic cooperation leading university development project (2012-2016, LINC). Along with the first and second phases of the project, Daegu University has participated in all three phases by being selected for LINC 3.0 this year.
Daegu University has established a leading model for industry-academic cooperation with the vision of "establishing a multi-value industry-academic-research cooperation ecosystem together with universities and companies for a joint leap forward." In addition, the University will promote various industry-academic-research cooperation projects systematically to realize values such as ‘human resources with customized capabilities in new and emerging industries,’ ‘securing new corporate innovation technologies in specialized fields,’ and ‘co-growth of universities and companies based on economic performance.’
Professor Jang Joong-hyuk, Project Lead for LINC 3.0 explained the direction of the project by saying, "Daegu University has created value in the region through LINC+ project over the past five years and has created industry-academic cooperation outcomes closely related to the region.” He added, “In the future, we will establish an industry-academic-research cooperation ecosystem based on a leading model of industry-academic cooperation centered on the values of talent, technology, and growth. In particular, we will foster human resources, develop technologies, and revitalize start-ups, focusing on Daegu University’s three specialized areas such as ‘Welfare Science and Technology,’ ‘Smart Manufacturing,’ and ‘Glocal Sixth Industry.’
